Well, this, as they say, is ‘it’, the final entry of 2011. Now we slide smoothly and gracefully into the year that has had everyone shitting their britches for the past several decades. Were the Maya right? Wrong? Actually, it does not matter one tiny bit of fuck , because here’s one absolute certainty about the Maya : They never prophesied, foretold, hinted, (or even mentioned vaguely in passing, just to make polite conversation) any apocalypse, end of days, or total destruction of life as we know it. The current Era, with its attendant calender, simply ends in order that the new one can begin. Why is that so hard to get? When the Satanic ‘Age of Fire’ began in 1966, no one kicked up such a fuss. So let’s look at this Maya thing again, shall we? Their calendar ends, and all the rest was fabricated, misquoted, and blown WAY out of proportion by histrionic doom sayers, dull-witted mouth-breather followers of von Daniken, (remember ol’ Erich? Chariots of the Gods?) and those special people who, for whatever reasons, feel the overpowering need to believe that we’re on the eve of destruction. One ending, one beginning. Deal with it. They did. Now we can get back to hoping that the upcoming year works out a lot better than those two train-wrecks we call 2010 & 2011.

As always, Be safe.
